
Qatar, represented by a delegation from the Communications Regulatory Authority and Qatar Postal Services “Qatar Post,” led by H.E. Mr. Faleh Mohammed Al-Naemi Chairman and Managing director of Qatar post. the Fourth Global Postal Conference, which was organized by the Universal Postal Union in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from October 1 to 5, 2023.
This event holds significant importance in the history of the Universal Postal Union, bringing together postal industry experts, representatives of companies, and government officials from around the world. The primary aim was to enhance cooperation and add value to postal services beneficiaries worldwide.
The Global Postal Conference focused on important postal issues and innovative trends, with a primary emphasis on utilizing advanced technology to develop postal services and products. Historic decisions were made that will impact the global postal sector, including decisions and agreements regarding greater involvement of stakeholders in the postal sector, climate action goals, and plans to modernize postal financial services.
This conference marks a pivotal moment in the history of the Universal Postal Union, as it discussed a future path for the postal sector with more inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability. The aim is to enhance opportunities for innovation and facilitate cooperation while reshaping and developing the future of postal services. Members of the Universal Postal Union approved a set of proposals that will lead to a deeper engagement of the Universal Postal Union with a wider range of stakeholders in the postal sector – those postal companies and partners outside the Universal Postal Union network of designated postal operators appointed by governments.
