Qatar Post Announces Winners of the International Letter-Writing Competition for Youth in Celebration of World Post Day 2024
The Qatar Postal Service, “Qatar Post,” has announced the winners of the annual international letter-writing competition for youth organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU). This announcement coincides with World Post Day, which is celebrated on October 9 each year, and marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the UPU, under the theme “150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations”.
This competition targets students aged 9 to 15, providing them with the opportunity to express their ideas and dreams through letters addressed to future generations. This year’s theme was “Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they inherit” reflecting the importance of raising awareness among youth about the challenges and opportunities facing the world today.
The award ceremony took place at Qatar Post’s on the Corniche, presided over by
Mr. Mohammed Jabr Al Naemi, Chief Financial Officer along with a number of CEOs, department directors, parents, and student supervisors. The winners, who excelled in their literary creativity and ability to express their thoughts effectively, were honored during the event.
On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Naemi expressed pride in the achievements of the participating youth, emphasizing the importance of encouraging them to develop their writing skills and articulate their opinions. He also urged all students to participate in upcoming competitions to enhance their literary and writing abilities on an international level.
